WONDER.ZIP WONDER.ZIP includes six (6) .CSV Data files that contain the past performance data on all official races (and published schooling races) ran at Wonderland Greyhound Park, Revere Ma. from May-1-94 to July-31-94. A CSV File is a text file with Comma Seperated Values that can easily be imported into any database or spreadsheet program, as well as any marginally user-friendly Greyhound Handicapping Software. The files are: MAYSP.CSV May Sprints (5/16ths mile) JUNESP.CSV June JULYSP.CSV July MAYRC.CSV May Revere Course (3/8ths mile) JUNERC.CSV June JULYRC.CSV July MAYWC.CSV May Wonderland Course (7/16ths mile) JUNEWC.CSV June JULYWC.CSV July The data is arranged as follows: DATE PERF_ID Greyhound Tm PP Brk 1/8 Str Fin RT ODDS Gr Ftt GP ADT Definition of Headers: DATE: Date of race. PERF_ID: A 7-digit number. From left to right, Digits 1-2 = year(94), Digits 3-5 = Performance # as it appeared on the Racing program (123), Digits 6-7 = Race # of that performance. Therefore, the PERF_ID of 9412301 is Race#1, Performance #123, Year 1994. This is used because some days have 2 Performances. Greyhound: Official Name of Greyhound (16 Chars Max). Tm: Winning Race time. PP: Post Position. Brk: Break Call. 1/8: Eighth Call. Str: Stretch Call. Fin: Finish. RT: Actual running time of this greyhound. ODDS: Official Odds. Gr: Grade of Race. Ftt: First Turn Time (Sprints only). GP: Grade Points (See Below). ADT: Adjusted Time, based on a calculated track variant. It is calculated using the average Ftt of the performance compared to the running average of approximately 7.336 seconds. I will eventually adjust it by grade in the future. Grade Points I use a Basic doubling scale to assign point values based on the finish position of each greyhound in each official race (NOT Schooling races). A quick examination of the data will show how it is scaled: Grade 1 2 3 4 ETC.... AA (or S) 100 50 25 12 A 50 25 12 6 B 25 12 6 3 C 12 6 3 1 J 6 3 1 .5 D 3 1 .5 .25 M 1 .5 .25 .12 DISCLAIMER I make NO assurances on the accuracy of this data, and is provided here AS IS. The data itself was copied from the results from the Wonderland Racing Programs provided at each performance, and some data-checking was done to it, but invariably some errors occur. If you do find some errors or have any suggestions, please write me on Channel 1 BBS. MARK A GOODWIN WALTHAM, MA. (please notice middle initial before last name!!)
